About Brian Burrell

Brian has been a longtime facilitator of both yoga and meditation and mindfulness practices for over 30 years. 

Durning his college years Brian became awed by the power of the mind, body, and the mystery of existence itself. 

Brian continued exploring all of these things as a research psychologist, traveling musician; and years spent in residential practice as a Zen monk at the Tassajara Mountain Center monastery.

He is a certified yoga instructor under Ana Forrest (Forrest Yoga), Robert Boustany (Pralaya Yoga), and The Yoga Institute.  Brian has taught classes and led workshops in yoga, meditation and mindfulness at many places, including The Houstonian Club, The Houston Zen Center, and the Houston Country Club.  
 Brian is also the Founder of Monkey Mind Mastery, and the creator of the Six Steps to Successful Meditation course.  He also jointly founded Authentic Houston, a community where people can learn and explore ‘intersubjective meditation’ (aka Authentic Relating) and the group practice of Circling.
